Two Attempted Break-Ins Foiled, One Successful in Fairfax

It was one out of three for burglars attempted to access Fairfax storefronts over the weekend, according to the Fairfax City Police.

Employees contacted police at 8:45 a.m. Monday to report that someone had entered the Commonwealth Animal Hospital sometime overnight and removed cash from the register. The clinic is located at 10860 Main Street.

Hours earlier, police had responded to a security alarm activation at the CVS Pharmacy at 11003 Lee Highway. The door and a window were found damaged, but the burglars weren’t able to get inside.

In the early morning hours Sunday, burglars were similarly unsuccessful in an attempted break-in at the Virginia ABC Store at 9600 Main Street. Officers arrived at 4 a.m. Sunday regarding an alarm activation.

It was clear that unknown subjects had attempted to get inside through multiple attempts to break the front window, but they were unsuccessful.

Recent retail break-ins in Loudoun County has prompted deputies to warn businesses to empty cash registers during overnight hours.
