Low-Cost Rabies Shot Available Sunday

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will host a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic for pets on Sunday.

The shelter will hold the event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sully District Governmental Center at 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard in Chantilly.

The cost of the rabies vaccine is $12 per pet and vaccines will be provided for dogs and cats. To receive a three-year vaccination, pet owners should bring proof of their pet’s current rabies vaccination. All other pets will receive a rabies vaccine valid for one year. No rabies tags will be issued at the clinic; however, 2011 dog licenses will be sold at the clinic for an additional $10 per dog.

All dogs must be on leash and cats and ferrets must be in carriers. Cash and checks only will be accepted at the clinic.

For more information, call the Fairfax County Animal Shelter at 703-830-1100.
