Police continue investigation of incident at Taco Bell parking lot.
The unidentified man, found on the ground in the parking lot next to a black Mercedes Benz, was out of surgery Saturday at 10 a.m. He suffered numerous gunshots, the spokeswoman said.
The restaurant, which closes at 2 a.m. on Friday nights, was closed at the time of the shooting.
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, a tow truck was taking away the Mercedes that City of Falls Church Police on the scene said belonged to the victim.
The man who was shot is described by police as an adult male Hispanic; they do not know his name, according to the spokeswoman. He was rushed to Fairfax Hospital and is expected to survive after undergoing surgery Saturday morning, she said.
City of Falls Church Police were being assisted Saturday morning in their investigation by Fairfax County Police, who used canines to search the area for any suspects. Police are also going door to door to speak to residents in the area, the spokeswoman said.
Police have not arrested anyone, she said.
