Law & Order: SVU star B.D. Wong rolled through Falls Church Saturday campaigning for President Obama. Wong, a “Surrogate for Obama,” said his mission was to thank grassroots volunteers for their work.

Fairfax County police are looking for a man who is going around stealing credit cards belonging to cancer and rehabilitation patients at Falls Church-area doctor offices.

Falls Church City Public Schools for a second year have seen their student enrollment increase by 4.5 percent. The school system needs more space but building or updating facilities would be costly.

County police say “skimming” is on the rise in the area. Skimming, placing an electronic device on an ATM to steal someone’s bank account information, was detected at Inova Fairfax Hospital in August and police are still looking for the alleged suspects in that case.

Award-winning cartoonist Nick Galifianakis was on hand last week at the opening of an exhibit of his work in Falls Church. The Falls Church resident is also cousins with star of “The Hangover,” Zach Galifianakis.

Falls Church residents no have a fitness center they can work out at any time of day now that 24 Hour Fitness has opened. The center had more than 1,000 people sign up within the first three days they were open for business.

It was a tough week on the gridiron for the four Falls Church-area high schools. George Mason, George Marshall, JEB Stuart and Falls Church High all lost Friday night.

It’s been another award-winning year for the Falls Church Farmer’s Market. The market has picked up several local and national accolades for their vendors and offerings.
