Fredericksburg City Schools Host Parent Night

Tuesdays event includes workshops by area leaders.

Fredericksburg City Public Schools (FCPS) will host parent night on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at James Monroe High School for parents of all K through 12 students.  

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a welcome from FCPS Superintendent Dr. David G. Melton at 6:45 p.m.

Parents are invited to attend their choice of two workshops from 7 - 8 p.m. The workshop choices are:

“What activities are available for my child after school hours?”
Fredericksburg City Public Schools ESL Teachers
Target Audience: Parents of ESL Students

“Organization and Study Skills for Students”
Andrew West, School Counselor, Walker-Grant Middle School
Target Audience: All

“Bullying Must Stop: Tips for Parents”
Catherine M.W. Graves, M.S., NCC, NCSC, 2011-2012 Spotsylvania School Counselor of the Year
Target Audience: All

“Building Social and Emotional Intelligence for Academic and Workplace Success”
Debra Rezendes, M.S., CPC, ELI-MP, Parent Strategist and Leadership Coach (Families in Thriving)
Target Audience: All

“What parents need to know about Virginia’s Sex Offender Registry”
Senior Trooper Sean B. Myers, Virginia State Police – Sex Offender Investigative Unit (Region II)
Target Audience: All

FCPS said child care is provided.
