Fredericksburg Man Found Dead In Prince William County Jail Cell

The man, who was identified as an inmate, was found unresponsive in his cell Saturday at the Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.

MANASSAS, VA — Prince William County police are investigating the death of a Fredericksburg man at the Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center. According to police, the man — identified as Dale Wayne Fox, 34, of Fredericksburg — was an inmate at the jail. He was found unresponsive in his cell at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fox was found unconscious during a routine cell check, police said. Jail staff provided first aid until the man could be transported to the hospital; however, once at the hospital, Fox was pronounced dead.

The cause of his death is still unknown, police said. The exact cause will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office pending an autopsy and toxicology results.
