Missing Person Found Dead In Rappahannock River: Police
A missing person was found dead in the Rappahannock River on Tuesday morning, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A missing person was found dead in the Rappahannock River on Tuesday morning, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities have not released the name of the deceased. The sheriff's office said it will not release the person's name, age, or gender based on a request from the family.
At 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies were called to the Chatham Bridge and Kings Highway to investigate a missing person report.

"The individual was located in the water and was pronounced deceased at the scene," the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.
Authorities noted that no foul play is suspected, but detectives are continuing to investigate the death.

The sheriff's office has not released a possible cause of death. The public information officer for the sheriff's office told Patch that a proper autopsy would be conducted.
