At about 1 a.m. March 30, law enforcement from the City of Fredericksburg Police Department and the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at Q-Ball Cafe.  Upon arrival, deputies discovered Marcellus Greene, a security employee from the club, lying fatally wounded in front of the main entrance.  Security staff at the club are unarmed, Pearce said.

Witnesses reported an altercation erupted between two groups attending a rap concert.  One group was ejected from the business by club personnel and later became involved in another altercation in the parking lot.  Shortly thereafter, the subjects drove by the club and fired several shots at the front of the establishment, striking Mr. Greene.
