Police Investigating Sunday Shooting as Homicide

Victim identified as Jose Anibar Cisneros.

Fairfax County Police are now investigating a shooting early Sunday in Hybla Valley as a homicide, they announced Monday morning.

The victim has been identified as 34-year-old, Jose Anibar Cisneros, of the 7200 block of Harrison Lane.

Police responded to the 7100 block of Groveton Gardens Road just after 3 a.m. Sunday when someone reported hearing a gunshot and a man lying in the road. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Cisneros was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine official cause and manner of death, police said. An autopsy will be performed sometime later Monday, according to police.

The only suspect information at this time is that two men were seen running from the area after the gunshot was heard, police said.
