Oncology Rehab and Wellness Resources, LLC in Ashburn, VA has hired local Cancer Exercise Specialists Arch Cox and Terry Drew to co-lead its new cancer exercise division. The Cancer Community Active Recovery and Empowerment Program, or Cancer CARE, is geared toward maintaining strength and fitness during treatments and well into survivorship.
Arch Cox has worked in healthcare for the past 14 years. He received a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation from the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT) and a Cancer Exercise Specialist (CES) designation from the Cancer Exercise Training Institute (CETI).
Terry Drew has been providing physical therapy in the home care environment for the past 20 years. She is a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, received a Cancer Exercise Specialist (CES) designation from the Cancer Exercise Training Institute and a Personal Trainer and Aerobics Instructor (IFA) certification from the International Fitness Association.
Cancer Exercise Specialists are trained in the intricacies of working with cancer survivors and identifying potential problems that require modifying an individual’s program or referring a client back to the physician.
Cancer CARE was developed by Cheryl Guarna, owner of and lead clinician at Oncology Rehab, Cox and Drew.
