The girls from Girl Scout Daisy Troop 681 learned about local history to earn their history of Herndon patch Thursday, March 29. The girls went to the Herndon Depot Museum to learn about how Herndon got its start and its name, the town's history as a rail town, and about Commander William Lewis Herndon and his ship. Most of the girls attend Clearview Elementary School in Herndon, though some are also home schooled or attend St. Joseph School in Herndon. The troop also recently donated 130 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to troops in Afghanistan.
