When Do Girl Scout Cookies Go on Sale?

If you get an unexpected knock at the door, you may want to answer it: Girl Scouts in Herndon are going door to door now selling Thin Mints, Tagalongs and other Girl Scout cookies.

Local Girl Scouts were able to sell to friends and family members as early as December, but door-to-door sales did not start until mid-January.

Girl Scouts will be selling cookies at several locations and events throughout Herndon from Feb. 22 through March 24.

Some times, dates and locations for cookie sale booths are already set—enter your ZIP code into this Girl Scouts’ Cookie Locator page to look up cookie sales. Or, download the Girl Scout cookies locator mobile app.

Later this month, Herndon Girl Scouts will be selling cookies at Outback Steakhouse, Giant Food, Worldgate Center and Panera Bread. More cookie sale locations will pop up in March, including at Kmart, Safeway, The Breeze, and the Herndon Town Hall.

Girl Scout cookies are $4 this year, up from $3.50 per box. Each Girl Scout troop gets to keep 50-cents from every box sold.

The new cookie this year—mango crème—is not available in Virginia.
