Car Catches Fire On 95 In Springfield
Firefighters were quick to help a driver when the car caught fire at the Springfield interchange.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A car caught fire during the morning commute Thursday on a Springfield interchange ramp.
Greater Springfield volunteer firefighters responded to the care fire, reported around 8:16 a.m. on the northbound I-95 ramp to northbound I-495. Units rescued the driver, who was taken to the hospital. The car appeared to have significant damage, while the driver suffered minor injuries.
The car fire did not close any lanes but caused delays for miles. No other cars were involved. There was no immediate word on the cause of the car fire.
