Police: 7-Year-Old Girl Ejected in Hit and Run on Interstate 95
Virginia State Police are seeking help in identifying the subject in a early-morning hit and run Sunday on Interstate 95. The incident included one 7-year-old victim ejected during the crash.

Police responded to an overturned vehicle at the 166 mile marker in Fairfax County. A Ford Expedition had been heading southbound at 5:30 a.m. when it collided with another vehicle, forcing the Expedition off the side of the interstate and flipping into a ditch.

In the accident, the child was ejected from the SUV and landed in a culvert, with the Expedition landing on top, straddling the culvert, according to Corinne Geller, a State Police spokesperson.

"The 7-year-old girl miraculously suffered just a few minor injuries and was able to crawl out of the culvert on her own, once the vehicle was removed," Geller said in a statement. The girl was treated at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 34-year-old Maryland woman, and her four other passengers suffered only minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The other vehicle involved in the crash left the scene and there is no description of the vehicle. Anyone with information about the suspect vehicle can contact the Virginia State Police at 703-803-0026.
