Manassas Man Killed in Late-Night Shooting: Police
The victim was found in the 9200 block of Byrd Drive, according to Manassas police.

MANASSAS, VA — The Manassas police are investigating the shooting death of a city man shortly after midnight Thursday, according to a Manassas official.
The victim has been identified as Jose Tomas Velasquez, 44, according to Patty Prince, a city official. No arrests had been made in the case by Friday morning.
The police responded at 1 a.m. Friday to the report of a shooting in the 9200 block of Byrd Drive, according to Prince. They found Velasquez suffering from several gunshot wounds.

He was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, the police said.
