Human Remains Found in Retention Pond: Police
The human remains found have been taken to medical examiner's office for identification, says police spokesman.

MANASSAS, VA — The Prince William County police are investigating the circumstances around the discovery of human remains Tuesday in a retention pond in the Manassas area.
The police responded at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday to what appeared to be human remains in the pond in the 7300 block of Williamson Boulevard, according to a police report. The pond is east of Sudley Road (Route 234) and just south of Interstate 66.
Officers with the Police Department's Dive Team recovered the remains, which were taken to a medical examiner's office in Manassas, said Officer Nathan Prebus, a police spokesman.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and use dental records to identify the individual, Prebus said.
The police said they'll release the identity of the deceased after it's confirmed and next of kin are notified.
