Police: Shots Fired in the Air as Rowdy Crowd Leaves Gainesville Club

A Fairfax man was arrested Sunday after shots were fired in an unruly crowd that spilled out of a Gainesville bar, according to Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

Tanu Mohummad Bah, 36, of Santa Clara Drive in Fairfax is charged with reckless handling of a firearm.

Police responded to the scene at 2:29 p.m. on the 7500 block of Old Linton Hall Road.

A group of patrons were leaving the MVP Bar and Grill, Prince William County police reports show. The crowd became disorderly in the parking lot, police said, and one person pulled out a handgun and fired it into the air before leaving.

Bar security were able to provide police with a description of the suspect and vehicle tag information.

Police stopped the car at Wellington and Balls Ford Road with the suspect inside and arrested him.

He was released on a court summons and ordered to appear in court May 17.
