Comstock Keeping Busy on Capitol Hill; Chairing Research, Tech Subcommittee

In addition to welcoming her first granddaughter to the family, Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-10th), a resident of McLean, has hit the ground running on Capitol Hill. The Committee on Science, Space, and Technology Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) recently announced that she has been named chairwoman of the Research and Technology Subcommittee for the 114th Congress.

“I am delighted to be able to continue my work on technology issues in a leadership role on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee,” said Comstock, in a news release.

“Having been the Chairwoman of the Science and Technology Committee in the Virginia House of Delegates, chairing the Research and Technology Subcommittee in the House of Representatives will allow me to continue my work on innovation and 21st century jobs,” she said. “My District is home to many leading technology companies and innovative entrepreneurs who are leading the way in technology, research, and development. I want to thank Chairman Smith for giving me this great opportunity to serve on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee as a subcommittee Chairwoman addressing the exciting innovation issues that can revolutionize our education, economy, health care, and national security.”
