Rescue in Progress Monday at Scott's Run Nature Preserve
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue confirmed Monday afternoon they are rescuing a person who has fallen at  Scott's Run Nature Preserve. The area is known for steep hills and cliffs.

The call came in about 3:45 p.m. and the victim's injuries were not known as of about 4:20 p.m., according to Capt. William Moreland.

A Patch reader from McLean notes that boats were being launched Monday from near Old Angler's Inn to possibly rescue the adult male, who reportedly fell about 20 feet at the preserve.

The incident is the second in the past two days, according to Moreland with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Fairfax County assisted Montgomery County and reportedly the U.S. Park Police in a rescue Sunday also at Scott's Run, after a man fell and was airlifted out of the area.

He fell about 50 feet and sustained life-threatening injuries, Moreland said.
