Police Find Marijuana Plants in Oakton Man's Home

Fairfax County Police respond to burglary call, discover marijuana in plain view

Police Find Marijuana Plants in Oakton Man's Home

Fairfax County Police arrested an Oakton man for manufacturing marijuana with the intent to distribute after responding to a burglary call from his upstairs neighbors, police said.

Anthony G. Halteh, 22, of Windwood Farms Drive in Oakton, has been charged with manufacturing marijuana for others, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, burglary and misdemeanor assault.

A female upstairs neighbor of Halteh's, who splits a townhouse separated by a locked door with Halteh, discovered Halteh in her home around 10 p.m. Aug. 11 and the locked door broken down, said Officer Don Gotthardt, an FCPD spokesperson. The two engaged in an argument, and Halteh allegedly pushed her as he ran past her.

Halteh told police he had knocked down the locked door because he heard something coming from the other part of the townhouse, Gotthardt said.

Halteh's neighbor called police, who then discovered marijuana plants in plain view of Halteh's portion of the townhouse, Gotthardt said. Officers then obtained a warrant to search the area.

Police cannot confirm how much marijuana was found, but charges show it is between 1/2 oz. and 5 pounds.

Halteh was brought to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he remains with no bond. A court date has been set for Oct. 10.

The previous information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department and, where charges were made, does not indicate a conviction. For questions about this article, email Nicole.Trifone@patch.com.
