Attempted Robbery, Assault Prompts Arrest In Alexandria
Alexandria Police made an arrest in an attempted robbery that sent the victim to the hospital.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police made an arrest after an attempted robbery with an assault Wednesday. Police responded to a second attempted robbery with a stabbing that night.
The first robbery happened around 2:09 p.m. at an apartment building at 375 South Reynolds Street, the location of Brent Place Apartments in the West End. Police had received a call about a victim with a gunshot wound, but responding officers found the victim was not shot but was assaulted and potentially robbed.
The victim went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police conducted a search for the suspect. A suspect matching the description was found at South Van Dorn Street and Courtney Avenue. The suspect, who police have not yet publicly identified, was charged and taken to the detention center. A misdemeanor warrant from another jurisdiction was also found against the suspect.
Later that night, police responded to a robbery Notification: Moderate police presence in the 5600 block of Derby Court in the West End. Police say a man was stabbed during an attempted robbery. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There was no other immediate information on the incident.
