Embezzlement From Old Town Restaurant Leads To Indictment With 17 Charges

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The manager of an Old Town Alexandria restaurant was indicted last week for embezzling funds from the restaurant, according to Alexandria's prosecutor.

Claude Ibrahim, 53, of Manassas, was indicted on 17 counts of embezzlement tied to her work at Hank's Oyster Bar, the Alexandria Commonwealth's Attorney announced.

Prosecutors accuse Ibrahim of embezzling more than $600,000 from Hank's Oyster Bar in Alexandria. The embezzlement happened over eight and a half years when Ibrahim worked for the restaurant.

Each embezzlement charge could lead to a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

A trial date was not immediately scheduled.

Hank's Oyster Bar was previously located on King Street until 2022, when it opened in its new Old Town North location.
