Metrorail Driver's Action At Alexandria Station Leads To DWI Charge
A Metrorail driver who stopped a train beyond the Van Dorn Street platform was allegedly intoxicated, according to media reports.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A Metrorail driver who was allegedly intoxicated failed to stop at the Van Dorn Street Metro station and stopped between stations on Dec. 23, according to media reports.
The incident of a Metrorail driver being charged with DWI was first reported by Greater Greater Washington after it appeared in a Metro Transit Police daily report. The driver reportedly passed the Van Dorn Street Metro and stopped for over 30 minutes between Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield.
After the train reached Franconia-Springfield, the driver got drug and alcohol tested and was removed from his work. The Washington Metrorail Safety Commission will investigate the incident.
