Here's Where You Can Buy a Christmas Tree Near Reston

With Thanksgiving over and December fast approaching, it's time to decorate for Christmas.

RESTON, VA — The Thanksgiving turkey is now chopped up and put in the fridge for leftovers, and everyone's thoughts are turning toward the Big One: Christmas. That means it's time to start thinking about where to buy a Christmas tree. But where can you get a beautiful Douglas Fir or White Pine to put in your living room if you live in the Reston area?

One of the closest spots you're going to find is Krop's Crops, a seasonal farm located at 11110 Georgetown Pike in Great Falls. Krop's has a robust Christmas tree farm, and they sell lots of decorations. You can also buy other Christmas-y vegetation like poinsettias, wreaths and even firewood.

"We stock beautiful Noble Firs from Oregon, Fraser Firs from North Carolina, and Douglas Firs from Pennsylvania," Krop's says on its website, noting that the size range is 5 to 14 feet, and price vary based on size and type. You can get delivery on request.

Another option is to head over to Meadows Farms Garden Center at 11254 Leesburg Pike in Herndon. The nursery offers various sizes of cut Fraser and Douglas Firs, along with Scotch and White Pines. They also offer live trees as an alternative to cut Christmas trees, which can be planted in your yard when the holidays are over.

"Along with our Christmas trees, we also offer everything you need to bring the Christmas spirit to your home," according to the Meadows Farms website. "We offer a variety of greens and roping, along with poinsettias of all colors and sizes. While you’re here, visit our Christmas Shop inside of our garden center. While you shop for ornaments, lights, and other Christmas décor, take the time to grab a bag of popcorn, a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and warm yourself by our fire pit."
