Preview Party, Raffle Among the Ways to Support Arts in Reston

Want a preview of the some of the artwork for sale at the 20th Annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival?

GRACE, the organizers of the juried show that runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at , is hosting a Preview Party Friday the headquarters of the College Board at 11955 Democracy Dr.

Attendees will be treated to the expansive views from the College Board's ninth-floor sky lobby as well as  food and drinks. There will be silent auction, as well as  items for sale at the festival.

The preview party is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $75. Proceeds will benefit

The Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival Committee will also be holding  two raffles held in honor of the Festival's 20th Anniversary.

Items for auction include:

  •  A porcelain dog created by Alison Palmer, a participant in this year's Festival. The dog is the likeness of the 2011 Festival art piece chosen to appear on the poster and promotional material this year. The Dog, fondly known to some as "the blue dog" is currently on display at the Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE) located in the Reston Town Center.
  •  An Apple iPad2.

The items are being raffled separately, both at the same price - one ticket for $10, three tickets for $20.

Tickets will be sold during the Festival.

 The drawing will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Reston Town Center. Winners need not be present at the drawing.

Patrons can also help the arts in Reston by stopping by the festival's  Art Carts, which offer information and directions to Festival events. They can give a $10 donation to the arts center and receive a $10 gift certificat good at several Reston Town Center restaurants.
