Reston Man Throws Guinea Pig Off Balcony: Police

The man faces animal cruelty and domestic violence charges after the guinea pig fell to its death.

RESTON, VA — Police have arrested a Reston man on charges of animal cruelty and domestic violence after they say he threw the victim's pet guinea pig off a balcony.

Fairfax County Animal Protection Police responded to the 2200 block of Castle Rock Square at around 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 30 to assist officers on a domestic violence incident, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

The report states that 19-year-old Theron Boone threw the victim's pet guinea pig off the balcony and then left the area. The guinea pig did not survive.

Police arrested Boone the following day and took him to the Adult Detention Center. He faces charges of animal cruelty, domestic violence, destruction of property and preventing someone from calling 911.
