South Lakes Seahawks Fall to Westfield in State Semifinal

RESTON, VA — South Lakes High School's fantastic football season came to an end Saturday afternoon, as the team fell to the defending state champion Westfield Bulldogs 42-12.

Westfield, which is located in Chantilly, will advance to play Norfolk's Oscar Smith next week, which will be a rematch of last year's final. The Bulldogs never trailed the Seahawks, who upset top-seeded Lake Braddock the week before to bring the Reston high school within a game of the state final.

The Seahawks had an outstanding season, going 12-1 and pulling off a deep playoff run. They were ranked 13th in the state before their upset win over Lake Braddock.
