Take a Spectacular Aerial Tour of Reston in New Video
A video by local company Bussmann Aviation provides a bird's eye view of the city, and shows how much everything's changed.

RESTON, VA — Reston's changed quite a bit in the last decade or so, and nowhere is that more evident than from the air.
A new video uploaded by Vienna-based helicopter flight company Bussmann Aviation that was taken from a GoPro Hero5 mounted on a MD500 helicopter gives you a 4+ minute aerial view of everything in Reston, from the Dulles Toll Road to the quiet lakeside neighborhoods to the burgeoning business sector. Compare that footage to this 1969 aerial picture of Reston, and one from 1979, before Reston Town Center became what it is today. It's an unmistakable difference.
Construction of RTC started in 1988, 24 years after Reston was founded by Robert E. Simon, and it started with just two 11-story office buildings. Today, the whole Reston area is one of the hottest commercial construction areas in the country, and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon -- for better or worse.
