Western Fairfax Christian Ministries Relocates Thrift Store

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries has opened a new location less than half a mile from the homelessness prevention agency's previous office space in Chantilly.

“We are excited to remain centrally located to our clients, many of who live in Chantilly, Centreville and parts of Fairfax. We hope this move will mean more exposure for WFCM in the business community to whom we hope to foster working partnerships to better serve our community,” said Melissa Jansen, the executive director of WFCM.

WFCM renegotiated with Beatty Development Corporation for a more high-traffic space in the Sully Place Shopping Center, off Route 50 in Chantilly.

“This is important to the continued success of our Thrift Store, which provides significant revenue for our ministry," Jansen said.

Last year, WFCM served 3,272 people with food, clothing, rent and utility assistance. The group was founded in 1987 by 12 local churches concerned about the growing need for emergency assistance in Centreville, Clifton, Chantilly, Fair Oaks and Fairfax Station.
