Update: Woman Found Dead in Fairfax County Jail Identified

(Updated 1:16 p.m. Monday) FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County detectives are investigating the death of a female inmate at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center in Fairfax that Sheriff deputies discovered Sunday. Police identified the woman as Anna Carmela Dinenna, 49, of Silver Spring, Md after notifying next of kin.

The 49-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her cell at 9:10 a.m. Sunday. Deputies performed CPR and called for emergency staff, who pronounced her dead.

Initial investigations do not appear to indicate suspicious activity. Detectives reported that the woman was alone and appeared to have no signs of trauma. An autopsy will determine the exact cause and manner of death. Police will provide an update or within 30 days or when more information is available.
