Marshall Students Raise Money for Breast Cancer

A group of Marshall High School students wanted to give cancer "the boot."

And thanks to their fundraising, they are once step closer to it.

Marshall High School Juniors Jack Boettger, Duncan McDonald and Christie McIntyre recently presented a check for $235 to Life With Cancer, "a local, community-funded organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing information, education and support," according to its website.

The money was raised through the sale of tshirts, designed by the students to raise awareness about early detection.

The shirts were sold in Vienna in October with the help of  Vienna Youth Soccer and iCan! Help 4 Kids, which had previously partnered with VYS and Vienna Little League to collect more than 8,000 pounds of food for the needy.

iCan provided information for this story.
