Hiker Drowned Near Popular Cascades Lake

The 33-year-old man went on a solo hike to Blanca Lake on Monday, according to police.

GOLD BAR, WA - The 33-year-old hiker who was found dead near Blanca Lake early Tuesday morning accidentally drowned, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner. Steven T. Le, 33, of Lynnwood, left for the solo hike on Monday afternoon.

A Snohomish County search team found Le near Troublesome Creek, which feeds into Blanca Lake.

The Blanca Lake trailhead is located about 15 miles north of U.S. 2 in Index.
