Email to the Editor: Arts Alive Holiday Open House a Success Thanks to Community

Arts Alive! Gallery Manager Krista Little acknowledges all the individuals in the local art community who made the December open house a wonderful success.

Before this busy winter month comes to a close, I don't want to miss the opportunity to thank the community of Enumclaw for making the Holiday Open House at the Arts Alive Gallery so wonderful.

Celia Bender designed a beautiful flyer and poster for the event and Susan Etchey helped spread the news through various venues. Debbie Fank ensured the word got out to Arts Alive members. Susan Petitclerc organized and arranged a terrific spread of food for the event. Norma Wendt made her delicious wassail, a hot mulled cider that filled the gallery with the smell of sweet and spice all day long.  Artists Mary Ann Raichart, Samantha Rheinford, Helma Raycher, Lorrie Maras, Marty Wallace, Cathy Matson and Bruce & Carol Smith provided fantastic opportunities throughout the day for our guests to observe and explore art-making. Suzanne Popp shared and sold her new book. Helma Raycher, Elaine Lynest, Lisa Stewart and Lorrie Maras provided beautiful student work for display from our Arts Alive art classes. A number of volunteers such as Paula Nordby, Chuck Hubbard and Norma Wendt worked throughout the day answering customer questions and running sales. Lisa Stewart and others were of great help with set up and clean up after the festivities were over. It was a pleasure to see so many faces in the gallery, both new and old, all enjoying the original work of 30 local artists. I'm sure I left someone or something off the list of thanks; please know your service to Arts Alive did not go unnoticed. What a wonderful Open House! Thank you for teaming up with me to make this a success!

It's not too late to find that last special Christmas gift at the Arts Alive Gallery.  Our student work display and holiday items will be up until the end of the month.
