Car Fire Near Boeing In Renton Creates Plume Of Smoke
No one was injured in the fire, which broke out around 2 p.m. Tuesday near Boeing and The Landing shopping center.

RENTON, WA - A car caught fire Tuesday near the new Hyatt hotel at the south end of Lake Washington. The fire sent up a plume of smoke over The Landing shopping center and the Boeing facilities.
Renton Deputy Chief Roy Gunsolus told Patch that firefighters responded to a an area between the Hyatt and the Bristol at Southport apartment building around 2 p.m. The smell of smoke made its way into the Hyatt, but there was no visible smoke inside the building.
The fire department did not need to evacuate any buildings in the area due to the fire. No one was injured, and the cause is under investigation. The fire department cleared the scene by about 2:30 p.m., Gunsolus said.
