Seniors — Irish in blood or spirit — may enjoy the luck o’ the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day by enjoying a free Irish-inspired breakfast at Renton Senior Activity Center on Saturday, March 17, from 8-11a.m. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Councils from St. Anthony and St. Stephen the Martyr Parishes in Renton, the breakfast will feature pancakes, eggs, sausages, fruit and assorted beverages. The Knights of Columbus volunteers and their families will prepare and serve the meal as they seek to honor seniors for the many ways they contribute to making Renton a great community. Last year more than 200 seniors partook in the holiday breakfast.
This year community businesses have also contributed finances or items to the event including Dan Kellogg, Estate Attorney; Wal-Mart; Sam’s Club; Downtown Safeway; and Albertson’s Renton Highlands.

“We do this breakfast as part of our mission to serve the community, said Dang Nguyen, Grand Knight of the St. Anthony Parish Fr. Lane Council #3645. “Members from our Council and St. Stephen the Martyr Council #13374 join together to make this event possible.”

Planning and coordination for this breakfast starts as early as December with cooperation from the City of Renton every year for providing the facilities. A great collaboration of two Knights of Columbus Councils in Renton, community businesses and the City of makes this year’s breakfast possible. We think St. Patrick would be proud!
