Pain at the Pump: Gas Prices Topping $4 Per Gallon in Renton

Gas prices in the Renton area are tipping the $4 mark for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel as road trip season approaches, but prices aren't expected to reach the levels seen in 2012.

According to NPR, national gas prices are about 15 percent lower than this time last year, due to a spike in crude oil production.

But, the pain at the pump is still very real for the average consumer. With Memorial Day only two weeks away, gas prices in Seattle are averaging at $3.964 per gallon. During this week in 2012, regular unleaded fuel cost $4.218 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

Find the cheapest gas in Renton at USA Petroleum, at $3.64 per gallon. Other affordable options include 7-Eleven ($3.70), Fred Meyer ($3.73) and Safeway ($3.77).
