Rainier Ave Closed Due To 15-Foot Sinkhole
"Best case scenario" a stretch of Rainier Avenue will be closed through Thursday, according to Renton police.
RENTON, WA - A stretch of Rainier Avenue will remain closed through at least Thursday after a sinkhole opened up under the pavement. Renton road crews estimate that the hole is about 15 feet deep under the pavement.
The sinkhole is located along the 900 block of Rainier Avenue, and that stretch will remain closed except to local traffic. That area is near the west entrance to the Renton Municipal Airport, north of the St. Vincent de Paul store.
*Update* As of now the 900 block of Rainier Ave will be local access only and completely shut down to all others. I was told best case scenario the road will reopen tomorrow. MM
