NORTH BEND, WA - A 73-year-old man died Saturday after veering off eastbound I-5, his car winding up on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. The collision stopped traffic and closed the trail for a time. A preliminary investigation points to a possible medical condition as a factor, according to Washington State Patrol.
The collision happened around 8:30 a.m. near milepost 33 near North Bend. The driver was heading eastbound when he drove off the shoulder. State police believe a medical condition, speed, and distracted driving were all factors in the crash.
