Puget Sound Protests and Politics: What To Expect This Weekend
There are rallies and other political activities happening around Puget Sound from Seattle to Tacoma. Here's what to expect.

SEATTLE, WA - We're entering just the third weekend of President Donald Trump's term, and, from the women's march to Sea-Tac, protests have become a fixture around the region.
This weekend will be no different.
There are a number of protests and political events taking place this weekend from Seattle to Tacoma. Here are some of the events:

#WAexit Rally Against Racism, Sexism, and the Banning of Refugees | Feb. 4, noon-5 p.m., Westlake Park, Seattle. From the event website: "This is a non- violent, peaceful demonstration. This is to begin the unification of Washingtonians against racism, sexism and for freedom of religion and cultural expression. We are committed to the constitution , WA state laws and federal laws that protect our most vulnerable. We are not a group of rowdy cowboys seeking to leave the US, however we are willing to begin the discussion of secession as an extreme last resort, with other concerned citizens and neighbors if the federal government is going to stop protecting all American's, nationalized, Visa holders and Green card holders."
Solidarity Day at Northwest Detention Center | Feb. 4 1:30 - 4 p.m., Northwest Detention Center, Tacoma. From the event website: "We will be holding this Saturday Solidarity Day to show our support for families visiting their loved ones in detention and our resistance to the oppressive immigration prison system."

International Rescue Committee Orientation | Feb. 4, 2 p.m., Redmond Stake Events, 10115 172nd Ave Northeast, Redmond. From the event website: "International Rescue Committee will be providing insight on the refugee crisis, orientation for their organization, a necessary component for volunteering with them, and discuss ways that we can help."
Protest US Bank No DAPL | Feb. 4, 11:30 a.m., 121 West Holly St., Bellingham. From the event website: Join for a protest of US Bank's funding of the Dakota Access Pipeline and to call on the City of Bellingham to close their account 80 million dollar account with US Bank in solidarity with Standing Rock!
Climate Political Advocacy 101 | Feb. 6, 7 p.m., Sammamish Library, Sammamish. From the event website: "How can we make sure our elected officials are hearing our voices? What can you do to fight for climate justice given the Trump administration and its climate-denying leaders, if you have an hour, two hours, or five hours a week?"
