Body of Girl Found on I-5 Identified as Former Shorewood Student

The 17-year-old girl, who was found dead on I-5, in Shoreline, Saturday morning, has been identified as former Shorewood student, Kelsey Lippincott, of Tukwila.

The teen, who left Shorewood after one semester, was struck by a semi-truck and two other vehicles, after she jumped onto the highway from an overpass, according to investigators.

At 12:41 a.m., on Saturday, 911 dispatch received reports of a pedestrian standing alone on the side of the N.E. 145th overpass, over traffic. Washington State Patrol arrived at the scene to find the girl with fatal injuries in the center lane of southbound I-5.

Investigators believe that vehicles may have continued on, without realizing that they hit a person.

Flowers and signs have been left at the site of the accident.
