SATURDAY: Pruning Party at Curran Apple Orchard Park SATURDAY: Pruning Party at Curran Apple Orchard Park

Master gardeners are teaching free pruning classes at Curran Apple Orchard Park this spring, and the upcoming session is set for this Saturday, March 9.

The pruning party will take place at 3920 Grandview Dr. W. in University Place, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The classes are open to those who have adopted an apple tree at the park and also other local residents who are interested in gardening.

Participants will learn how to prune apple trees and help maintain the orchard.

Tree adopters can also come prune their tree at their convenience. Recommended pruning tools include work gloves, hand pruners, loppers and hand saws. Some tools are also available on site.

Trained volunteers are also available to assist you with any questions. If you can’t go this Saturday, there are three more classes coming up: March 23, April 13 and 27. No registration required.

Visit the Curran Apple Orchard Park website for more information.
