Many government offices, including cities and schools, will be closed Nov. 12.

Veteran's Day is Nov. 11, but most government offices will observe it on Monday, Nov. 12. Here is a list of what’s open and what's closed.

Woodinville City Hall is closed Monday. There is a city council meeting on Tuesday.

Northshore School District: Closed Monday, classes will resume Nov. 13. There is a school board meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

United States Postal Service: Post offices are closed, no mail delivery.

King County government: Closed. King County Elections will continue to count ballots.

King County Library System is closed Sunday for the holiday, but will be open Monday.

King County Metro: Reduced weekday schedule.

King County Transfer Stations (Garbage): Open.

Sound Transit: Regular weekday schedule.

State of Washington: Closed.

Federal government: Closed.

Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed. Check your local branch.

Express delivery companiesFedEx and  UPS will be open.

Did you know?

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Day commemorates Armistice Day -- the day when World War I hostilities ended between the Allies and Germany. Veterans Day is officially observed on Nov. 11, regardless of which day it falls.
