Woodinville Fire & Rescue Commissioner Resigns

Commissioner Randy Ransom cites health reasons for his departure.

Woodinville Fire & Rescue Commissioner Resigns

In a letter read by Chair Tom Osgood, Randy Ransom resigned from his position on the board, citing health issues as his reason for leaving . Under Washington State law, the remaining commissioners have 90 days to appoint someone to finish Ransom’s term, which runs until 2013.

Ransom wrote, “I’m writing this letter to inform you of my resignation from the Woodinville Fire & Rescue Board of Commissioner. After careful consideration and advice from my doctors, I have decided to step down from my position as a Fire Commissioner as to take care of myself in addressing my health issues. Simply put, while I have struggled with my health, it’s time for me to get serious about taking care of myself and make it a priority in my life. With my health as a priority, I am not able to fulfill my responsibilities as a Commissioner and execute its duties properly. Please consider this letter as my official notification of resignation from the board effective immediately.  Keep up the good work, remembering always to keep a fiscal responsible eye with the property owners in mind in providing emergency services to the District.”
