Dixon Elementary School Mourns Loss of 5th Grade Teacher

A fifth-grade teacher at Dixon Elementary School passed away on April 17 after a short battle with cancer, according to the Elmbrook School District’s website.

Angela Mallet was survived by her husband Matthew and two children, the website states. Her funeral was held Thursday, April 24.

“The entire Elmbrook Community grieves with the Malett family,” said Superintendent Mark Hansen on the website. “The outpouring of support from hundreds of students, parents, and staff members is a small testament to the impact Angie made over her 17-year career.”

Dixon Principal Jeanne Siegenthaler added, “Angie was always the first one to care for the needs of others, and it is difficult to lose someone who gave so much to our staff and students. We will miss her outgoing and energetic personality, leadership, and most especially her friendship.”

A scholarship fund has been set up by the Elmbrook Education Foundation to honor Mallet’s life and contribution to the Elmbrook School District. Dixon Elementary School graduates who are also graduating from Brookfield East or Brookfield Central high schools are eligible to apply, according to the Dixon Elementary School website.
