Police found holiday decorations left in the Barker Road roundabout, other yard messes reported over the holidays.

Prank-Friendly Roundabout Home to Another One

If there's a place in Brookfield that has been the site for pranks and stunts, the roundabout at North Avenue and Barker Road ranks high on the list.

The past six months have seen youth , stand and to passing motorists and have the through it.

Add to the mix: dump a plastic Frosty the Snowman and Christmas decorations.

A Brookfield police officer on patrol New Year's afternoon found the holiday decorations in the roundabout. Just three hours prior, a San Marcos Drive homeowner had called police to say her four-foot-tall, lighted, hard plastic Frosty was stolen, but when shown the one found in the roundabout, she said it wasn't her snowman. (Another from Patricia Lane Dec. 16.)

In other prank and vandalism-related items from the Brookfield police blotter:

  • Someone used a marijuana leaf stencil to spray paint green graffiti on a garage, driveway and road sign in the 4300 block of North 162nd Street and 15800 block of Brentwood Drive. The leaves were painted sometime between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
  • Thirty driveway markers were reported stolen from a yard in the 20700 block of Bradford Court between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday.
  • About 2:20 am. Friday a man in the 1600 block of Lone Oak Lane said someone had taken his lawn ornaments and garbage and put them in his neighbors' yard, along with other items, such as forks and as many as 100 driveway markers. Police didn't wake the neighbor.
  • Ten minutes later, a woman in the 20500 block of Dexter Court called police to say someone had smashed about a dozen eggs on her driveway, squirted BBQ and chocolate sauce on the drive and a vehicle and toliet-papered her trees.
