Motel Incident Leads to Adderall Discovery

A 29-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing charges after Town of Brookfield police officers found a prescription pill in her purse while investigating an incident at an area motel.

Ashley H. Schroeder was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of possession of an illegally obtained prescription. If convicted, she faces up to six months in jail and $500 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On July 13, Town of Brookfield police officers were called to after someone broke a window of a room. Officers entered the room and no one was there, however, it smelled of marijuana inside.

Officers found two bags of marijuana, rolling papers and several marijuana cigarettes in the room and they found Schroeder’s car parked outside and saw her walking across Barker Road.

Schroeder told police she had been visiting a friend who was in the room, but didn’t know anything about a broken window or marijuana. She was taken back to her car to get her purse and then placed under arrest.

Officers searched her purse and found an Adderall pill inside.

Schroeder will make her initial appearance in court Sept. 10.
