Waukesha County Plant Cuts Jobs, Sending Work to Mexico

Cooper Power System in Pewaukee is eliminating 166 jobs and sending the work to Mexico beginning next year, reported Patch media partners WISN 12 News.

The electrical equipment supplier's cuts will affect mainly production plant workers and 30 salaried positions. The production of molded rubber will be moved to its facility in Queretaro, Mexico.

Eaton acquired Cooper Industries in November 2012. A spokesperson with Eaton's Cooper Power Systems Division said that ongoing business and market conditions and a continued challenging business climate have caused them to make this move.

The company will now be left with fewer than 100 employees, according to WISN 12 News.
