Greendale Flu Clinics Schedule

The CDC recommends that people get vaccinated as soon as the vaccine becomes available in their communities. The Greendale Health Department will have two flu clinics this month.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people get vaccinated against influenza as soon as the 2012-2013 flu season vaccine becomes available in their community.

Greendale Flu clinics will be held in the Court Room of the Greendale Safety Center on Monday, October 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again on Tuesday, October 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The CDC’s Advisory Committee also recommends that all individuals 6 months of age and older receive an annual flu shot. Others who should also get vaccinated include people who are at high risk of developing serious complications if they get sick with the flu (pregnant women, people 65 years and older, people with certain medical conditions) as well as people who live with or care for others who are high risk of developing serious complications.

A flu vaccine is needed every year because flu viruses are constantly changing,  according to the CDC.  The flu vaccine is formulated each year to keep up with the flu viruses as they change. Getting vaccinated each year will provide the best protection against influenza throughout the flu season.

No appointments are necessary for the Greendale “walk-in” clinics. These clinics are for individuals 9 years of age and older.  A parent or guardian must accompany children under age 18.

The fee for the flu shot is $30.00.  Pneumonia vaccine will also be available for adults for $65.00.  The pneumonia vaccine is not recommended to be given annually as is the flu vaccine. Bring your insurance cards and/or  Medicare cards.

Greendale Health Department will offer the flu vaccine to children 6 months old through 18 years.  Children with or without insurance coverage may get flu shots at the Health Department for $5. (Insurances cannot be billed.) Call (414) 423-2110 to schedule an appointment.

If you have any questions, call Greendale Health Department at (414) 423-2110.
