El Beso Mexican Restaurant and Cantina . With Cinco de Mayo this Thursday, the restaurant is anticipating a large crowd.

“Business has been very good in these first few weeks,” said Ricardo Peña, one of the restaurant’s managers.

El Beso plans to open at its regular time of 11 a.m. Thursday and hopes that the weather will allow guests to enjoy their newly furnished outside patio. The restaurant also booked two local mariachi bands that will play between 4-7 p.m.

Normal happy hour specials run during the weekdays from 2:30-5 p.m., but the restaurant plans to extend the drink specials to 7 p.m. Thursday.

“If you have not already come to try the new restaurant, Cinco de Mayo should be a great event for all to experience our food and service,” Peña said. 

Across town at Greenfield’s , the management cannot wait for the holiday to show off its new bar renovations. Now featuring a full-sized dance floor, the restaurant plans to host a DJ from 6 p.m. to close on Cinco de Mayo. The music will include salsa, merengue and bachata music.

“This is the perfect location to celebrate Cinco de Mayo,” said Sanra Madrigal, one of the restaurant’s managers. “Come enjoy an authentic Mexican meal and then stay and dance the night away.”

Los Mariachis opens at 11 a.m. and hosts its happy hour specials all day long. 

"We excited to show off our new additions to the restaurant and hope you join us for the party," Madrigal said.
