Man Accused of Trying to Run Down Ex-Wife With a Vehicle

A South Milwaukee man is accused of trying to run over his ex-wife and her landlord with his vehicle outside of her Greenfield apartment.

The 44-year-old man was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Monday with one count of disorderly conduct domestic abuse and two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment of safety. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and $51,000 in fines.

Patch is withholding the man's name to protect the identity of the victim.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Oct. 24, a woman was in the living room of her apartment in the 8100 block of West Forest Garden Court when she noticed lights shining in through her patio door. She then realized the lights were from a vehicle and noticed her ex-husband on the patio trying to take down some plants.

The women went outside and began to yell at him and told him to leave. The man had slurred speech and was stumbling around before getting back into his vehicle, which was parked on the grass.

The woman went inside to get the telephone and came back out so she could get her ex-husband's license plate number, when her landlord came out and began to yell at him. The ex-husband then accelerated at the women in an attempt to run them down.

His ex-wife told police she had to pull her landlord out of the way to avoid being hit by the vehicle and then he drove around on the grass in a circular motion.

The man is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail while awaiting trial.
